Tid Bits Gathered Here and There

And yet more info from the Internet vital to your health....

I have been cleaning out my medicine cabinet, cosmetics, hair products, etc. and searching for certain key phrases or words that mean health hazards to any who use. By the time I was finished I had a whole paperbag full of Hand/body lotions, lipsticks, shampoo, hair conditioners, toothpaste and shaving cream. All had the one ingredient that had been previously given in an e-mail on SLS or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Or in other words, anything that has a sudsy or lather or smooth application to it. Almost all soaps, shampoos etc regardless if they are ‘natural’or ‘healthy’ they have cancer causing agents as part of the ingredients. Please read on to see the updated info with all the other names it uses. The following is taken in part from "Mark Bilger" marco@toltbbs.com sent to Jean Hudon globalvisionary@cybernaute.com regarding SLS and other stuff. Sep 3, 1998 (If interested in more information contact either of these and get on their mailing lists)

Jean.....I’d like to clarify that SLS is actually in most commercial shampoos and toothpastes in the US, at all price ranges, whether discount store brands or expensive salon brands. .....I checked out all the toothpastes that WalMart sells (most made in the US it looks like) and the only one I found without SLS was SensiDyne which is meant for those with sensitive gums. (Ed note: The NEW improved SensiDyne DOES have SLS now. I checked. So it looks like I continue to use baking soda) This implies to me that the manufacturers know that SLS is rough on the gums and can cause bleeding. You’ll also notice that the warning label concerning possible effects of SLS is on the outer box which gets thrown away when you take ht tube out. Thus you don’t’ have a reason to concern yourself with SLS after that. Out of sight, Out of mind.

Even if you don’t think SLS is in a product it likely is anyway. Here is a list of more than 80 names under which SLS is disguised though it’s still the same thing:

This list was accumulated and dispensed on demand to distributors of products from Neways International, Inc of Salem, UT. Neways personal hygiene products DO NOT have SLS in them at all. By the way, products with Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate or Ammonium Laureth Sulfate are perfectly safe. I don’t know why Ammonium is different than Sodium but it is. Oddly enough some of the cheapest shampoos by Suave (a division of Helen Curtis) uses Ammonium Laurel Sulfate instead of SLS. But watch that SLS isn’t further down the line int he ingredient list in other cases.

Another ingredient that people should become very aware of is Pryopylene Glycol. This is in almost every hair conditioning product from $1 up to highest dollar, a few toothpastes and in most all skin creams and cosmetics that are meant to go on smooth. But that’s not all! I’ve even seen it in ice cream and cake frostings to make the product smooth and creamy. The cigarette industry is one of the leading users of Propylene Glycol. Power steering fluid and airplane deicer are also made of it. This ingredient is automotive antifreeze. Read the bottle of your Peak antifreeze or "environmentally more friendly" antifreeze---it’s 100% Propylene Glycol.

Propylene Glycol molecules are plenty small enough to go through human skin tissue (transdermal) via skin products and hair conditioners (remember your scalp is also skin) and eventually into the blood stream and lymphatic fluids. IT is said to destroy the human liver and other organs, as well as cause various cancers. Dr Hulda Clark also believes it is the food for the intestinal flukes that go to the liver and cause all cancers (her book: A Cure for All cancers). There are many terrible side effects of Propylene Glycol that are reported and under investigation.
